The founder

Subnet Studio was founded by Grant Legassick, a creative director and builder whose career spans high-end feature-film VFX compositing — from Batman Begins to Kingdom of Heaven — and photography, to AI-native production. Trained in the craft and holding an MA from Central Saint Martins, he doesn't just use generative tools; he designs and directs the apps, pipelines and creative engines that take AI output to commercial quality at scale.
That background is the difference. Years of compositing and photography built a trained eye for colour, light, lens and how a real image is actually made — the exact instincts that separate believable, commercial-grade AI imagery from the obviously synthetic. It is a rare pairing of deep visual craft and hands-on technical direction, and it is what makes Subnet Studio possible: full campaign and e-commerce asset stacks, produced before a physical sample exists.
